Mel, from Cooking With Mel, tagged me in this game where you pick recipes from your blog and create an Easter meal. Well, I'm a relatively new "foodie" so lets see what I can round up here for an Easter meal!
Gotta have Southern Sweet Iced Tea!
Can't have Easter dinner without the Deviled Eggs.
How 'bout some Crisscross Potatoes on the side?
For the main dish...and another side dish Corn N' Chicken Scallop.
Honey Butter Cornbread Muffins make an excellent accompaniment (scroll down to the bottom of that post for the recipe).
And for dessert....gotta have Strawberry Checkerboard Cake!
Now, lets see who else I can tag....

I made the checkerboard cake today! I was going to make a homeade strawberry layer cake anyways, so I made that and a boxed white cake. I used a homeade cream cheese frosting in between the layers with some chopped up strawberry slices. I frosted with cream cheese frosting and lined the bottom of the cake with fresh strawberry halves. I will put some fresh slices on tomorrow, but didn't want the juice to run on the white frosting. I can't wait to cut into it tomorrow!! Any way I can send you a pic?

Just realized I was in such a hurry I left out my pic of crisscross potatoes! It's there now :)
Thanks for thinking of me. We didn't do anything special for Easter. Since we just returned from our San Diego trip, we ate foods from the freezer - barbecue chicken pizza. Then I made a spinach and chicken lasagna. Nothing special. Maybe next year....
